Aims and Context

For my FM3 creative project, I am going to produce a short film called 'Naomi's Choice'. The genre is drama, and I hope to use the codes and conventions. This is to appeal to my target audience of young people aged 15-25, predominantly female of both working and middle class.
My aim will be to introduce the learning about the creation of meaning through cinematography and mise-en-scene from my study at FM1; to explore the codes and conventions of the drama genre, and create emotions for the audience. I am aiming to make the audience feel empathy for Naomi, by using cinematography and performance to emphasise the changes to her life.
In order to asisst with this project, I have been studying films such as 'Juno', 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', 'Stand By Me' and 'Bend it Like Beckham'; as well as reading 'Think about Movies-3 rd edition'.
I intend to direct my piece; write and edit my imagined film.
